Nick Sherrod

Social Ambassador

My name is Nick Sherrod, and I’m a photographer and cinematographer in the outdoor industry. I’ve grown up in and around Knoxville, TN, and have been hunting since the age of 11. I started Whitetail hunting during the youth weekends and at 15, my buddy and I took on our first duck hunt. Since then, we taught ourselves the intricacies of the hunt. These days, I’m fortunate to travel all across North America, both for work and for fun, chasing incredible animals in breathtaking landscapes—from elk in the high country to ducks in the Nevada desert. My favorite hunt, however, is always for turkeys in my home state of Tennessee.

Meet the Benelli Pros

Benelli: How long have you been a Benelli ambassador and what does it mean to you to be associated
with Benelli?

Nick: I've been associated with Benelli for the last six years. Benelli is one of the most recognizable brands in the industry and it’s an honor to be part of the team.

Benelli: How long have you been hunting or shooting and what got you into this sport?

Nick: I’ve been hunting for the last 25 years. My dad took me on my first dove hunt with a single shot .410 and I never looked back.

Benelli: If you could only have one Benelli firearm, what would it be and why?

Nick: If i could only choose one it would be the M2 20 gauge. It’s so versatile and reliable and it’s been my go-to for the last 6-8 years.

Benelli: What is your career highlight or achievement?

Nick: Honestly, just creating a good life for myself and my family while working with brands I've admired my whole life.

Benelli: What advice would you give youth who want to be professional hunters or shooters?

Nick: Just find what you truly love about hunting and the outdoors, and be willing to pivot as things in the industry change.

Benelli: Tell us about a moment that you feel was a positive turning point in getting into the hunting/shooting industry?

Nick: Timing is everything, and I hit it right as content became king across social channels. Sitka Gear, Yeti and a few others became the leaders of content, and landing my first few gigs with them made it a reality that I could make a living in the industry.

Benelli: If you could hunt or shoot with one person, who would it be and why?

Nick: I would have to say my Dad and Papaw. We used to have an annual squirrel hunt on Thanksgiving when I was a boy and if I could go back to those days and do that, I would.
