Jared Lewis
Social Ambassador
My name is Jared Lewis and I hail from the great state of Mississippi. My love for the outdoors started at the age of 6 when I watched my dad miss an absolute giant buck from a ladder stand during bow season. It’s hard to remember what all you did when you were 6 but in that moment I was hooked. It was later in life, during college at Delta State, that I started hunting waterfowl. I meet an ole boy by the name of Cole Yarborough who showed me the ropes. I am forever thankful we crossed paths. Not long after graduating I joined the Army guard where I became a 13A Field Artillery Officer. In 2018, I deployed with my unit in support of Operation Inherent Resolve where I spent time in southern and northern Syria. When I returned home is when I found my love for photography and videography. It was the only thing that could quiet my mind. All these things have led me here and I look forward to sharing my passion of creativity and Benelli shotguns with you all. “Anything worth doing is worth over doing.”
Benelli: How long have you been a Benelli ambassador and what does it mean to you to be associated with Benelli? Jared: Just started this summer. Benelli is always pushing the brand standard to new levels. I enjoy being apart of a organization who is always striving to get better.
Benelli: How long have you been hunting or shooting and what got you into this sport?
Jared: I have been hunting since I was 6. My dad is who brought up through the ranks of hunting. It was mostly deer hunting but later in life I got into waterfowl hunting.
Benelli: If you could only have one Benelli firearm, what would it be and why?
Jared: Benelli 828U. I have a fascination with over unders. A lot of people like that 3rd shot but you don’t need it if you make the first two count.
Benelli: What is your career highlight or achievement?
Jared: Starting a ammunition company with a few buddies
Benelli: What is your favorite hobby, other than hunting or shooting?
Jared: Running a camera.
Benelli: Who was the childhood idol that led you into the hunting or shooting industry?
Jared: Really my dad. He pushed me hard as a kid when it came to shooting.
Benelli: Coldest / most miserable place you’ve ever been while hunting? Was it “successful” though?
Jared: MS Delta. It was my 2nd waterfowl hunt. It was so cold that by the end I had to crawl to my truck because it felt like I was walking on my bones. I’m pretty sure we were borderline hypothermic. No we didn’t kill much either.
Benelli: What was your first firearm and how did you get it? Do you still have it?
Jared: Was a 20 gauge pump shotgun. No I do not have it.
Benelli: What is your favorite food?
