Benelli Invitational Raises $85,000 for Freedom Hunters
Proceeds from sporting clays event fund outdoor experiences for soldiers and military families
ACCOKEEK, Md. (September 17, 2018) – For the fourth consecutive year, the Benelli USA Invitational Shoot drew shooters from across the outdoor industry and the mid-Atlantic region, raising $85,000 for Freedom Hunters to support outdoor opportunities for combat veterans, active duty military personnel and military families.
This year’s total funds raised eclipsed the previous high of $55,000 in 2017.
The Benelli USA Invitational Shoot took place on Friday, September 14 at Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Center in Glenn Dale, Maryland. Attendees competed on a challenging sporting clays shoot in the morning then participated in a silent auction and raffle, whose proceeds also went to Freedom Hunters.
At the conclusion of the event, Benelli USA Executive Team General Manager Tom DeBolt, Benelli USA Vice President of Brand Marketing Tim Joseph and Benelli USA Digital Marketing Manager Laurie Gardiner presented a check for the $85,000 to Anthony Pace and Bud DePlatchett and Tom Deoudes of Freedom Hunters, representing the total amount raised through donations, silent auction bids and raffle ticket sales.
ACCOKEEK, Md. – Since its introduction in 2014, the Benelli ETHOS has been the shotgun world’s gold standard for combining form and function into a single sporting firearm. The recipient of numerous awards from shooting publications worldwide and a mainstay for wingshooters of all varieties, the ETHOS line has been expanded to bring unparalleled performance and shootability sport shooters.
Benelli’s new line of ETHOS Sport models includes 12-, 20- and 28-gauge versions, each as capable of the highest levels of performance in the dove field as they are on the sporting clays course. Based on the proven ETHOS field model, the new ETHOS Sport shotguns are equipped with a recoil-absorbing cheek comb pad that is twice the size of those on field models. The ETHOS Sport models also feature a raised, carbon fiber sporting rib and barrel porting for faster, more effective follow-up shots. Increased barrel lengths further enhance the smooth swinging of the ETHOS Sport, while the award-winning ergonomics make the shotgun easy to mount, point and operate.
Capable of cycling even the lightest field loads and delivering a Progressive Comfort recoil-reduction system that significantly reduces felt recoil at the shoulder, the ETHOS Sport models, like their field model counterparts, are outfitted with AA-Grade satin walnut stocks, tastefully engraved nickel-plated receivers and Benelli’s patented easy locking system. The 28-gauge ETHOS Sport model is chambered for 3-inch shells, joining its field model counterpart as the only production 28-gauge shotguns to be chambered for both 2-3/4 and 3-inch shells.

ACCOKEEK, Md. – It’s the third incarnation of the shotgun that changed waterfowl hunting forever. And now, it’s available in left-handed models for southpaw shooters everywhere.
The new left-handed models of the Super Black Eagle 3 aren’t shortcut-filled “adaptations” of the original SBE3, which debuted in 2017. Instead, these left-hand-specific configurations are mirror images of the SBE3, delivering the same performance, ergonomics and comfort enhancements that make the Super Black Eagle 3 the hottest waterfowl shotgun available.
The new left-handed SBE3s are available in black synthetic configurations with either a 28- or 26-inch barrel, as well as in Realtree MAX-5 with a 28-inch barrel.
The Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 boasts dozens of new features and enhancements that improve the way the shotgun looks, feels and performs. At the heart of the new SBE3 is the inertia-driven action, which is centered around an Easy Locking System – an enhanced breech-closing system that eliminates the possibility for a shooter-induced stoppage when trying to softly close the bolt or when the shotgun is treated roughly in the blind. And because hardcore waterfowl hunters don’t stay out of the field in frigid weather, the new SBE3 is designed for easier operation with gloved and/or cold hands. The oversized bolt handle, oversized bolt release, oversized safety and redesigned magazine cap along with the enlarged load port make for easier operation in cold conditions.
ACCOKEEK, Md. – Hunters may equate the Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 with waterfowl hunting, but it’s bevy of features and easy-handling characteristics make it just as valuable in the pursuit of upland and small game, as well as in the deer woods.
To bring the proven performance and innovation to these hunters, Benelli has expanded the SBE3 with the addition of a wood version and a rifled slug configuration.
Featuring a satin walnut stock, the wood version of the SBE3 features the Progressive Comfort recoil-reduction system – the same system that buffers recoil in the ETHOS line as well as the R1 Pro. Different from the ComfortTech 3 system used in SBE3s with synthetic stocks, the Progressive Comfort system uses a system of three different layers interlocking fingers housed in the stock. The number of layers that engage are determined by the force of the shotgun’s recoil, which varies with the size of different loads. Developed specifically for use in Benelli models featuring wood stocks, the Progressive Comfort system also incorporates a CombTech pad to help reduce felt recoil on the face.
For deer hunters who live in shotgun-only states, the Super Black Eagle 3 is available in with a fully rifled slug barrel. Like all Benelli slug guns, this new SBE 3 configuration features a drilled and tapped receiver for easy optics mounting, as well as adjustable rear and fixed-blade front sights. Equipped with a 24-inch barrel, the SBE3 with the rifled slug barrel is available in black synthetic with sling-attachment points at the fore end and buttstock.

ACCOKEEK, Md. -- Benelli will highlight its recently introduced Super Black Eagle 3 along with the rest of its acclaimed shotgun line during the 2017 NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits, which run April 27-30 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
The new Super Black Eagle 3 continues Benelli's legacy of innovation by combining more than two dozen new, unique features that make it easier to use, more comfortable to shoot while enhancing the reliability of this iconic, inertia-driven shotgun.
In addition to offering attendees the chance to see and feel the world's best waterfowl shotgun and other industry-leading models, Benelli will give away DVD copies of "Benelli Presents To Kill a King," the company's two-part documentary that chronicles the development of the new Super Black Eagle 3. The made-for-TV documentary, which aired on outdoor television networks earlier this year, takes viewers to St. Paul Island in the Bering Sea to hunt the iconic king eider, using the Super Black Eagle 3 in one of world's harshest hunting environments.
A limited number of copies of "Benelli Presents to Kill a King" will be available inside the booth (No. 3527) and attendees are encouraged to get their copy before they are gone.
The Benelli booth will also feature appearances by members of the Benelli Pro Staff and shooting team members, who will be on hand during select portions of each day to meet fans and answer questions.
