I can’t think of a better way to enjoy shooting than to involve several guns in the fun. Three-gun matches do just that—not only are the matches fun, but this kind of shooting will greatly improve your shooting skills and marksmanship. It also establishes which guns are the most suitable, and for which purposes.
In much the same way that competing benchrest shooters discovered how much accuracy is influenced by the measure and consistency of ammo loads, so too are the 3-gunners discovering which guns can stand the heat when put through the rugged paces of demanding multi-stage competitions.
With few modifications needed, Benelli’s M2 stands out as the fastest and most reliable “workhorse” shotgun on the 3-gun circuit. Over time the M2 has proven itself in shoot after shoot, a fact that becomes obvious when you notice how many of the sport’s top guns use Benellis.
The M2 possesses what Benelli calls PSP (Practical Speed Performance), allowing the lightweight M2 to be shouldered quickly and easily for rapid target acquisition and fast fire. The ComforTech® stock system soaks up recoil for minimal muzzle flip and permits instant recovery to get back on target for fast follow up shots—critical for shaving time from 3-gun competition scores.
Something else you will also notice at 3-gun matches is women shooters are very much in evidence, including sixteen year-old shooting sensation and Team Benelli member, Katie Harris, who is already near the top of the game and reaching for the stars.
Check with your local Benelli dealer or nearby shooting range for news of any 3-gun shoots happening in your area. News, scores and national shoot schedules can be found at the 3-Gun Nation website—www.3gunnation.com
Shoot often, have fun and stay safe.
