MOD.B76 Pistol

Does anyone know where I can get a breakdown diagram or user manual of this pistol? I've been looking at different places on the web but it's hard enough to find someplace that mentions it let alone gives much info. Then again, maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Thanks in advance.

Other than the link that Tacman provided, does anyone have ANY other information (websites, .pdf, etc) on any of these fine firearms (B76, B80, B82)???

I and a hopless CZ fanatic, but I cannot get over how striking this Benelli is. I registered on this forum just to learn more.

I cannot even find much of anything for sale (internet) to give me a general idea of what these examples cost.

Any help is appreciated.

The Benelli B-76 is an Italian double-action police and military pistol introduced in 1980 and available in 9 mm Parabellum calibre, 7.65 mm Luger calibre, .32 ACP calibre, .32 Smith And Wesson Long calibre and 9 mm Ultra calibre. Although intended as an accurate service pistol, the Benelli B-76 lacks a decocking lever and has to be cocked via the trigger, making it dangerous and unpopular with governments.

Is this an attempt to describe a DAO firing mechanism?

The B76 is fairly rare, I believe only 10000 were made. The quote refers to the fact that the B76 is a classic single/double action design with an outside hammer. You can drop the hammer, manually, on a loaded chamber and fire the first shot double action. There after you go to single action. It's simiar the CZ75.. It came in in the late 70's in Europe but it didn't make the grade for a variety of reasons: It's a bit complicated for soldiers to strip, it's got a singlr stack mag (the standard NATO pistol is the Browing Hi-Power) and it's not reliable enough for service use. I've had one for 20 years and, while it's fun to shoot, it's a fussy eater. It really only likes fmj round nose. It's most striking feature, besides the difficuty of the field strip, is thta it has a fixed barrel which makes it very suitable for mounting a sound moderator. There were rumours in the 80's that some special forces units were looking at it for "sentry bashing".

There are some for sale on the web from time to time. You could try http://www.gunbroker.com. I saw one there a few weeks ago for $450.

Sory, I sent blank reply. I don't know where you can get a manual. I have one somewhere but I can't find it (yet). The B76 was featured in the Firearms assembly and Disassembly book for 1979 (I have a copy). You can sometimes p[ick them up in used book stores. It was probably featured in later editions also.. If all else fails let me know. Maybe I could scan the pages and send them to you.

I too, own a B76. I have had it for about 10 years or so and think its a really great pistol. Like the rest of you, I've found very little information on it. I did recently see a statement that they were used in small numbers by the Seals in the 80's.
I did get a photocopied manual from Benelli a while back and also asked about parts. Apparently they don't have any avilable.I also asked why mine has no importer's marks or name on it and they had no idea. Does anybody else's have importers marks?
