I am considering purchasing a Super Sport; will it function with 7/8 oz (at 1300- 1350fps) or at least oz(at 1200fps)? A recent article in Shotgun Sports indicates recoil is OK but says nothing about functioning. Fellow shooters in the past have complained of target loads not being reliable in other Benelli's.

scottlee - welcome first of all. . . second It may vary gun to gun with the super light loads.

I haven't gone under 1oz @ 1300 yet and no problems out of mine.

If anything - I'll be taking a step up in pellet count/wieght to 1-1/8 oz at aprox. same speed.

I agree with birddog. 1 oz will probably keep it running but if your bent on (why in a autoloader I don't know) a 7/8 oz load, I'd stick to an O/U.
