You raise some valid issues tucker301. We are stuck in a terrible quagmire in Iraq. Do they want democracy? Probably not enough to give up ancient hatreds. Are they better off with Saddam gone? Sure they are. Is it worth the cost? Time will tell.
I feel terrible for the families that lost loved ones, but they did volunteer to serve. The service people are true heros and deserve our gratitude! I know this isn't a popular position, But the war would have to happen sometime.
All the fanatical leadership in the Mid-East hate us americans. Don't know why, but they do. I'm glad this administration decided to do something instead of appease, appease, appease as the Democrats seem wont to do.
I think any group that will hold any right in such low esteem will eventually hold all rights in the same low esteem.

I can tell you why the fanatical leadership in the Mid-East hate us. Because their religion tells them to. We have a system based on free will, with responsibilities, and the laws of man. The Muslim is supposed to struggle to make sure the laws of man and the laws of Allah are the same. They will never have a "live and let live" attitude toward us.

The second amendment is a last chance right...it's the one we must hang onto if we're to ever get the rest back.

When Dianne Feinstein (sp?) said "Mr and Mrs America would be turning in their guns if I just had a few more votes", it proved it is possible for our legislative branch to pass a gun ban. But could they enforce it? I guess it depends on how many people "just said No".

Let me be the first to call a spade a spade here. Our war is against Islam! Bush is taking the fight to them and vice versa. Islam is the enemy of every decent human being on this planet. Although I am a Christian I can appreciate and respect every religion except Islam. We should have taken the war to them as soon as those practioners of the religion of peace blew up those Buhdda statues in Afghanistan the year prior to 911.

Bush's only thing is he is the most inarticulate president we have ever had, and he seems to be apologetic in every thing he does. A sign of weekness.

Don't confuse me with one of these party-line Republicans. I don't think Bush could give a sh** about the environment! An issue near and dear to my heart.

    Roger that T Dubya.

Do you guys know of any specifics where the Bush administration has lifted enviro regs? I work at an Oilfeild in Alaska and our regs got stricter under the Bush administration, especially our air quality permit. We had to remove a few pieces of equipment because they would never be able to meet the requirements. One particular piece was a diesel engined generator we used for emergency purposes.

With regards to Muslims and Christians, and Jews, Catholics, and all of the rest so-called religions.

More souls have been lost to religions over the ages than they ever have or ever will save.
Anything that promotes hatred and intolerance the way religions do, has no place in the hearts of truly Godly beings.

Okay, that's cool, but there was an article in the metro section of my local paper a few saturdays ago about how some of the George Washington National Forest might get sold. Now, the only people that are really going to get in on that is people with deep pockets like the logging industry.

Now, maybe it is the closet socialist in me, but I believe in public land. I believe in public lands for recreation, hunting etc. We don't have enough green space. Now who has some of the power to make this happen? The President.

The only decent thing that the Rat Bastage of a President Clinton did was enact some measures to protect this amazing forest and it looks like Bush may want to find some way to overturn that.

Amen to that, but let's look at the basic fundamental teachings of Jesus Christ. Peace, Love, Charity, Children, etc. etc.

How about Buhdism, good will towards your fellow man, self-discipline, respect for every living thing.

Now, let's look at Islam. First of all Islam means submission. Second of all the Kuran says, now I am para-phrasing, but it says convert or kill. Not a whole lot of grey area there if you ask me.

So when someone asks me why we should go to war; I ask them how many innocents lost their lives on September 11th, and that # is how many reasons why I think we should be at war.
