Do trap loads have wads. I am pretty sure they do, right?

    ALL loads have wads.
Wads separate the powder and the shot.
Whether they use the old paper wads or shot cups is another issue, but I believe most modern ammo uses the cups now.

The first time I shot slugs at paper targets there would be two holes in the target per shot. Had me scratchin my head cause I knew a slug wasn't going to fragment from impact on paper. That day I learned about wad's. Anyways that was years ago, however I still enjoy blasting various items with slugs. (bowling pins are nice, tougher than you'd think) What the heeelll is the point of my post? Oh yeah, all I ever see is cups these days and I see hundreds of diff. shells per month.
