Hi all , I just installed a 2 shot FACTORY Benelli extension on my M4 model 11703 today. It seems that I can fit 7 in the tube (the 7th is a snug fit) and 1 in the chamber. I thought I could only put 6 in the tube and 1 in the chamber. Is this normal? Whats up with that?? Let me know. CHEERS , Michael

OK , done. I took my trusty snap ring pliers and removed the Mag. spring seal ring( thats what the book calls it) The 7th round still fits snug , but if you think that seal ring is good for nothing then I will leave it out. Thanks for being around to answer questions.I am proud to be an M4 owner , I really dig BENELLIs. Cheers bro , Mike

Well just a cool side note my M4 will hold seven in the tube, one in the chamber, and one on the shell lifter for a total of 9... All you need to do is load the tube, drop one in the chamber, and drop one on the lifter holding it down as you close the bolt... I heard about it on AR-15.com and it works.. I've not fired it from this position but it performs fine with orange training rounds.. just fyi

    1. Check to insure that the safety is engaged.

    2. Point muzzle in safe direction. I usually set the muzzle pointing straight down on top of a couple of old editions of the yellow pages.

    3. Visually inspect to see that there is not a shell on the cartridge elevator, and that the magazine tube is empty. You should see the red follower.

    4. Depress the cartridge drop lever.

    5. Make sure that the ejection port is not pointed towards anything that might be harmed by an unexpected ejected shell.

    6. Pull the bolt back until it locks in the rearward position.

    7. Visually inspect the chamber and the rest to make absolutely sure that the gun is unloaded.

    8. Remove the Barrel and twin forearm pieces.

    9. Remove the Dummy Mag Ext by unscrewing it from the magazine tube.

    10. Don a pair of safety glasses, and russle up your favorite pair of snap ring pliers.

    11. Using pliers, carefully remove the magazine spring retention clip, making sure that it and the spring are constantly captured, so as to avoid the snake springing out of the gag peanut can effect, and possibly damaging your whatever happens to be around. Slowly allow spring to extend fully.

    12. Slip flared/ larger end of +2 extention over the end of the mag spring and slide the ext down until it meets up with the magazine tube. by feel, carefully align the threads of both tubes and screw together until hand tight. Do not overtighten. You should be able to loosen with a soft to medium grip.

The rest I'm sure you can figure out on your own. Whether or not you choose to re-install the mag spring retention clip is up to you. Mine holds 7 in the tube just fine with it, so I did. It made sense to me that it makes a fast strip easier, and less prone to spring mishaps, especially under stress.
