    Default Franchi Affinity

In a Cabelas ad for next week(8/9/12) there is an affinity that cabelas says made in USA . Now I bought one in March and it is made in Italy. I think that is the only place they are made . I think the ad is a misprint or something,I maybe wrong but that's why I posted to see if anyone else knows!

what shells..loads are you using?will it cycle lite loads? 1 oz shot.. 3 dr. powder?
are you having any issues loading shells in the magazine?some people say it is difficult,,it must be due to the narrower opening for the smaller shell. compared to the 12 ga.

I have a 20ga Affinity and it runs perfectly on 7/8 oz loads at 1200 fps. I've even got it to run on 3/4 oz but I had to step up the powder charge. I've put well over 500 rds through the gun but I've yet to shoot a factory shell. Out of 500+ shells, I've had only one low pressure jam and that was my reloader throwing a light charge.

The magazine is pretty tight with the scaled down receiver. My brothers M2 20ga has the same issue. Winchester shells must have a slightly smaller diameter base as they are easier to get past the latch. It isn't a big deal but it is something Franchi/Benelli should correct.

The gun has been letter perfect and it is well worth the asking price.

That is great to hear, about the s a -08 20 gauge.I noticed it has a single arm on the slide,I did nt know how that would effect the operation.sounds like it is a non-issue,..

How is the gun,,after it has had alot of shells ran thru it? Does it 'let you know' it needs to be cleaned?

Error on the last post, about the sa-08.. That was a gun i was comparing to,,I know the Affinity is a much better quality gun, than the sa-08 Weatherby.

    Hey guys,

I just bought a franchi affinity and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing a few things similar to mine. I just took it out shooting for the first time last night and I noticed to little quirks.

First, part 12 on the diagram TAV 5 (Page 11 in use and maintenance illustrations) pops out during recoil sometimes. It's just a little plastic piece and it isn't a big issue but it's kind of annoying after paying $800 for a gun. Secondly, there is a bit of play between the barrel and the breach, anyone else experiencing this?

The pistol grip cap came loose on my I-12. A couple drops of super glue or a good 2 part epoxy should take care of that problem.

If you actually have play between the barrel and receiver on your Affinity, I'd make sure the magazine cap is screwed on all the way. If you still have play between the barrel and receiver, I'd stop shooting the gun and send it back. If the pay you refer to is the 1/16" gap between the end of the rib and the receiver when the gun is properly assembled, that is typical of mine and every other Affinity I've seen.
