I see there's no shortage of very vocal anosognosics on this thread. lol

BTW, rough calculations reveal that the shooter spend no less than $5K on guns, ammo, and the Beta mag, not including the body armor and the stuff he wired up in his apt. Where does an unemployed grad student get $6K to spend over the course of 3 or so months??? His parents' credit card?? I cannot image any parent allowing their mid-20s kid to take off on such a tangent with them funding it, but who knows, right?

Sentiment understood. This place is a favorite water cooler for many of us. Easier perhaps to find kindred viewpoints, while just as easy to shake yer head and click the "back" arrow.

Context is everything. I'm certainly no Holder fan but what he's addressing here is illegal gun carrying by inner city youth... in response to the extraordinary rate of gun violence within certain urban areas, in this case Washington DC.

Insinuating the CO event is a conspiracy is absolutely ridiculous and tremendously irresponsible because ... actually no explanation is really needed. But I will say this thinking diminishes the pain and suffering of the tragedy as the fringe attempts to spin it into something it's not. This thinking is of the same camp as those who believe the US Gov't is responsible for 9/11 and that the moon walk and Mars landings were faked.

This thread is an embarrassment and I would ask the the forum moderators to move this thread to a more appropriate location... or better yet just delete it.

Grants, loans, credit-cards. Oh, his family wasn't exactly poor, either.
My former roommate with no job at times managed big-screen TV's, Tag watches, a few Glocks and an H&K USP or two, and a Corvette, all working part-time at a clothing store on and off while in college, lol. Yes, he has some debt now...

I heard on the news that with all his scholarships and grants, he ended up with about an extra 26k a year for his own personal use.
