    Default 1860 Henry Questions

Greetings to all...does anyone know of an authentic photograph of a Henry rifle with a tang mounted sight? If so, I would sure appreciate a copy or where to obtain it. Were they an option as was the sling swivels? My rifle has the swivels, and is finished "in the white". Was this too an option for the originals?
Resale.....are these rifles going to appreciate, hold their own, or depreciate in time? Mine is in super condition, and the "safe queen" question has come up.
Lastly, the barrel has the word "Cabelas" just beside the rear sight.....is that a detraction on its value?
Thanks to all, and safe shooting!

levergun 800 pics.jpgI don't think they will loose much value, but I doubt they will be a collector. I have an engraved one and am shooting it. I did put a tang peep on it. The barrel sight was cheap. Is yours a 44-40? I just started reloading for it and am having a good time. It is more accurate than my other pistol cartridge rifles.

I've been shooting mine as well, and its a hoot to shoot. It's in .45LC and definitely be reloading. Me and Marbles are putting our head together for a proper tang sight. Ordered the set from Midway and had to send it and the replacement back. Finally sent it to Marbles tech for his magic. What brand, type is yours? Now I have an itch for a pistol.....this has gotta stop or I'll be working again.
