Default Tang sight for Burgess lever action Model 1883

I need help finding a Tang sight for my newly purchase Burgress 1883 lever action rifle. Ramp sights don't work for me because of my vision. A peep sight gives me the needed depth of field to line up target. I am a CAS. Speed and accuracy are important in this comatition.

    Have you checked with Lyman?

They make tang sights and I bet they can tell you which specific model you need. Unless there's already a set of holes drilled into the tang (I've never handled a Burgess so I don't know what the tang looks like), you are going to have to drill and tap the mounting holes.

I would love to hear about your accuracy success with your Burgess. I'm considering getting one myself. I've go two 1873 models and love the dickens out of them but would love to have a Burgess also. I'm shooting 8 grs of Unique behind 255 grainers and getting pretty good luck. Would love to hear any recommendations of loading that would help accuracy. The chamber on mine seems to be on the plus side. (.487 on mine) .484 to .489 is the spec tolerance. Just wondering what your chamber dimensions are. I use a Lee carbide crimping die to resize with. (.480) Gives it a good fit in chamber. Other carbide resizers go as far down as (.468) Way too small. Love to hear back from you.
