X20 Supressor calibre question

I have never owned a high performance air rifle and I have decided on the X20S. My only question now is do I get the 22 or the 177? I will mainly be plinking in the back yard and getting rid of some of the "critters" that sneak into the house.

What are the pros and cons of each and which would you think would be more reasonable in the long run?

If you are getting the suppressed version, they say the .22 is slighlty more quiet than the .177.
I have the .177 and it's pretty darned quiet.
Either will suit your needs, but the .22 will of course be slightly slower, but deliver more energy on the target.
