Beachbum, I am curious as to what may be causing this, the damage to the knuckle on my first Instinct L, was severe and happened after just a couple of shots, Franchi was great in replacing it but when I asked what would have caused it they only offered that something foreign must have gotten in it which was not the case I had just received the gun back from them and am a gun cleaning nut.
It would be a good idea to follow up with a phone call to Franchi Service and explain your need to get the gun back quickly, request that someone look at it promptly to determine if it needs to be replaced rather than wait for it to be serviced for that decision to be made.
I have about 500 rounds through the new gun, there are some fine wear lines on the knuckle, I had called Franchi about this and was told it would be normal wear and if I felt there was a problem to return it as they are serious about their 7 year warranty, it does not seem to have worsened, on my old Fox side by side this area had been worn glassy smooth, hopefully that will be the case with this gun as I really like it.
Please let us know if you are offered any insight to what is causing this.
Tony
