Thread: Great service from Franchi !

Default Great service from Franchi !

I am real pleased with Franchi's Service Dept. I had sent my newly purchased Instinct L, 12 gauge model back last Thursday as I was unhappy with the color match between the stock and forearm, mechanically the gun was perfect.

I received a call from my dealer this morning that the gun was back already, about a week turn around including shipping both ways. The stock was replaced with a real pretty piece of wood matching the fore end nicely. I could not be more pleased.

In the interim I traded in my old Fox s x s on an Instinct SL in 20 gauge which is a sweet gun, it does feel like an extension of your arms and I was breaking clays as well as I was with the 12 gauge. Franchi's "Feels Right" claim seems to be true as far as I am concerned and the two models are a usefull set with the heavier 12 gauge L model for trap and turkey, the lighter 20 gauge SL for birds and small game.

I will post some pictures when I can and write further as I have more experience with these two shotguns.

Again my compliments to the Franchi Service Dept.

I was treated very well by Franchi service and hope to be again as I am having problems with the newly returned to me Instinct L. When I picked it up at the dealer yesterday we assembled the gun to see the stock, which was great, I did note that the gun seemed to be a lot harder to open than it had ever been before, but figured it would loosen a bit with use. I went out to the range today and after about the 10th shot it was getting so hard to open I called it quits. When taking it down to clean and see what might be going on I saw that the one side of the knuckle on the receiver was badly scored as well as the corresponding part on the fore end iron it appeared that the action was not closing evenly forcing one side too tight, they are pretty gouged and I do not think reparable. I do not know how or if this would be related to them changing a stock but as I noted in previous posts I had been real happy with the guns performance. If anyone has an idea what might have happened I would appreciate the insight. I will have to speak to Franchi on Monday.

Franchi has once again delivered first rate service, as noted in my earlier post I had to return my Instinct L due to scoring in the hinge area, they promptly replaced it, I picked the new gun up yesterday from my dealer and will hopefully get out to the range with it today. I will post pictures on the picture thread when I get a chance.

No one is happy to have a problem with a new gun but Franchi Service has been great to deal with and with their 7 year warranty I feel buying their Instinct L and SL as my first over/ under shotguns was a good decision.

    Default Franchi Customer Service

I am glad you got a prompt service from Franchi. When I called them about the Front Sight of my O/U SL being off center. They it would take them about five weeks to get it fix.

Turkeyslayer10 When I had initially sent my Instinct back for the stock replacement I was told to expect a 3 to 4 week turnaround and had it back in week, you would have to plan on the worst but hopefully they would do better.

I had seen your post about the sight, did they explain if it is just threaded in and can be turned or is it actually tapped in the wrong spot, I have a Instinct L and SL and in looking closely it does seem that the sight on each of them slightly favors the right side of the rib, I don't know if it tapped this way or if the sight itself is offset, both of them look exactly the same.

    Default Franchi Front Sight

When I contacted Franchi, the lady who I spoke with said the sight was threaded in but Franchi did not make a special tool to adjust. If the sight is not centered then I either send it back or try to adjust it myself. Rather than sending it back, I had one of my co-workers who is a Mechanical Design instructor made the tool for me and I was able to adjust it. The tool was made from some kind of hard plastic materials to prevent from scratching the rib. I will post the tool he made here in the future once I figure out how to post picture.

    Ivoryhunter,
I bought an instinct L 20 gauge and had the same scouring problem on both sides of the knuckles the first time it was shot. I have returned it to the dealer for repair. I hope I get the same great service and turnaround as you did as my son will be hopefully using it to compete at the state 4H tournament in 6 weeks.
