    Tim:
I am brand new to this forum. Bought my son STF3000 for his birthday, just after Christmas. Going on first clays/hunt at a preserve Monday. Would really appreciate getting the cleaning information and disassembly if you don't mind.
My email is JimmyReit at Triad dot rr dot com.
I am too new to send you a personal message.
    Thanks and Happy New Year!

anyone know if Timb is on vacation? Seems like everyone has bombarded him for the instructions on disassembly and cleaning so he may be taking a deserved break. If anyone has them could you send them to JimmyReit at Triad dot rr dot com?
    Thank you!

    Tim,

I just picked up a STF 3000, if possible, could you please send me your cleaning info for the gun? I don't have enough posts to send you a PM, my email address is shotgun2273 at yahoo dot com. Thank you for your help.

Never clean the barrel with the chokes removed. You_can_damage the threads.

Since the chokes are the part of the barrel that typically gets dirtiest, what I do, since I have a lot of chokes, is pull the dirty choke tubes out, put in clean ones, and clean the barrels that way.

Then I soak the dirty choke tubes overnight in a glass jar filled with acetone. Acetone dissolves the plastic left over from the wad. Then clean them thoroughly.

Every so often you should take the choke tubes out and clean the threads.

Also, you should always use some sort of choke tube lube on the threads. EVERY time you put a new choke tube in.

Tim, thanks, I didn't get this before I left for our hunt, but left them in thinking exactly what you said about the threads; thanks.
By the way, hunt was great. My son had a great time. The STF3000 performed flawlessly. No FTF's, no ejector issues as some reported and we used Remington shells. We weren't going to b/c of some of the comments about Remington, but we didn't have a choice. For some reason, right after the firsts, the ammo shelves were empty. Our only choice was Remington for 12ga. I shoot a 20ga and used Winchester.
Thanks again for all the help. So far, STF3000 has been great!

Shot several rounds thru mine, so far its worked perfect. Feels like a more expensive gun than it is. I'm pleased with it.
