    Default Franchi Factory Chokes

    I am a rookie hunter and having difficulty understanding the choke tubes for my franchi legend. On the tubes it references the choke for Lead and Steel....

    Choke 1
    LEAD **** IMP CYL
    STEEL ** IMP Modified
    Choke 2
    LEAD *** MOD
    STEEL * FULL
    Choke 3
    LEAD * FULL

    My presumption is
    -Choke 3 Can only be used for LEAD and
    -Choke 1 & 2 can be used for both LEAD an STEEL but since the metals patterns different it indicates both options on the choke.....

    Any help or confirmation is much appreciated

    Your presumption is right. Steel doesn't pattern tighter than lead. Steel will blow the choke out of the gun.
