    Default Crio Chokes

I'm making the assumption (yep, know what it means) that the Crio are the first version that came out with the first super sports. The ones with the threads at the end of the barrel, not about an inch down, which I believe are the Crio Plus. If I'm correct on that, then the same 5 constrictions apply - cyl, Imp, Mod, Imp Mod, and full. Have both kinds in Benelli's I own: Crio in 12ga. Super Sport and Crio Plus in the 12ga. Cordoba and 20ga SS.

Buzz64; can you tell me the restrictions in terms of numbers? Would like to compare to my Briley chokes. Thanks!

    Default Numbers for constriction

Sorry Verduci, I don't have a micrometer. Just patterned each to see how they do out of my SS with the shells I use. I shoot alot of sporting clays and that is what the ranges below are based on - not hunting. But, that said, for me, with 1oz 7 1/2 at 1300 my SS works like this: Cyl - use out to about 25 yds, Imp out to about 40, (if edge on targets might go tighter at shorter ranges to get the density) and mod for the rest - haven't needed anything tighter than mod for FITASC - for sure out to about 65 yards with the mod breaks 'em fine. This is with the Crio chokes that came with the gun. I have SKB and Remingtons which don't pattern like the above so you have to do the range work with a pattern board to see what choke works for you given the shell and gun at the different yardage.
