Default Conv. Cylinder for older 1858

I am thinking about getting a Conversion Cylinder for my Uberti 1858 Remington, however it is an older gun. (1970's model) Does anyone know if there are any "fitting" problems associated with putting a new Conversion Cylinder in the older model Uberti pistols??
    Would appreciate hearing your experiences.

    Default Conversion

I have an older Uberti, as well, and the solution from R&D was an Uberti cylinder with a Pietta backplate.

The current Pietta cylinder is longer than the current Uberti, but the earlier Ubertis had the same length cylinder as the Pietta.

With a Kirst cylinder, the backplates are the same thickness, so the longer Pietta cylinder would be needed. With the Kirst, you might have to check on the cylinder's locking bolt notch fit to the Uberti bolt nose. If you get a Kirst, it might be best to send him the gun for fitting.
