I picked up an old version of the Model 2000 at Dick's on Saturday for $249.97. It was missing 4 chokes but customer service is going to take care of me. It was new in the Advantage Camo. Check your local store-you might get lucky!!!![]()

You have picked up a real bargain. Go by the book in breaking it in and you will not be among the complainers that bought them and threw the manual away.
These guns are finicky during the break in period. After then, I'd put them up beside any economy shotgun on the market. Mine are quite reliable, both of them. I have both the new and old models. Went by the book and am happy.
After the initial break in, they will be your best friend. Sort of like breaking a wild horse. Once you do it right, you have a faithful companion.
OMG Ev I cannot share your enthusiasm toward this firearm. Funny thing is i read the manual several times, went through the break in process, kept it clean, and had one problem after the next.
Funny thing it took me a few years to finally get a replacment gun sent to me, and toward the end I started really looking at the amount of wear I saw on the inside of the reciever. There was may be 1500 rounds through this gun and mostly magnum loads and no way was this gun going to make another 2-3 years without destroying itself.
Ok may be I got a the peverbial dud but you will never get me to go down this path again.
