Default Questions about cutting down an M4 barrel

About a year ago, SergeantBernie had a M4 barrel cut down (http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13647). Does anyone know how it turned out? I was hoping for an "after use" update but never did see one. Was there any problems due to the barrel being about 2mm smaller diameter where the front sight & barrel lug were re-attached?

There is more to it than just cutting it down, there is reattaching the FSB, and MTH, as well as shimming, and refinishing.

See my post about SBS/BBL work

It is not something a novice can do, a class III dealer/smith screwed up one guys shotgun so bad it was almost worthless.

It was harder to fix it for me, than it would have been for me to do it right the first time.

I spent alot of time, and money to make up the tooling necessary to do this work right.

sorry about the pics, but I am a firearms guy, not a photographer.

In the pictures you can see that the FSB and the MTH are shimmed, and the refinishing job.

Wow, awesome work! I thought there needed to be something done about the barrel being a smaller diameter. So I guess that there is no problem with these shortened barrels with reguards to cycling and such? Are you the gunsmith that did the barrel in my original post?

Same as when it came from the factory BEFORE you put the +2 ext, or the full length tube in,which is 5+1+1 (carrier load).

How much for the cut down after the Form I approval from our friends at the BATFE?
