    Default remington pattern revolvers

I've read that the Remington style revolvers have soft hammer cams that wear easily and cause timing problems. Does anyone on this forum have experience with them? logeorge

These revolvers appeal to me a great deal, and I'm researching with perhaps the intention to buy one...BUT...that keeps coming up in things I read about them.

I get Guns of the Old West magazine - which is a good read but have no doubts it is a shill mag for whatever guns the writers have been loaned or given to evaluate. In the recent winter 2008 issue a writer goes over the 1890 Police hes just received. He raves about it, really likes it, but goes at great lengths to describe how he had the cam and other timing components redone on it first thing when it was still brand new.
