1849 colt pocket pistol conversion

would anybody know if it is possible to get a 1849 pocket pistol,wells fargo,or dragoon that is allready converted to .38 cartrage. its such a good looking pistol i believe its one of the josie wales guns.i have found them in black powder
but wonder at the safty of using converted cylinders.help.advice, any would help.thank ya. okie reklaw

The 1849 conversion cylinders I have seen have been for 32 S&W, not 38. The 38 conversions are on the Navy frame, not the pocket frames. I have not seen any pocket frame conversions offered like one sees the 38 and 44 conversion. I believe you would have to get an R&D conversion cylinder.
