Thumbs down 3rd time is the charm?

I have a M2000 that I will now sent back to the factory for evaluation for the 3rd time in 1 year, so for anyone considering be warned - troubles could await you.

#1 Sent gun back due to frequent light primer strikes and misfires, this occured all brands of ammo. Gun was returned in working order and no longer had any misfires, seems trigger was replaced.

#2 The bolt handle started falling out while duck hunting last fall, and on occasion the 3rd shell wouldnt feed. Guns was retuned with a new bolt assembly and some adjustments made to the feed lever which brings up shells.

At this time I have been unable to complete a round of trap or skeet without having constant shell feeding issues, usually 8 - 10 misfeeds per round using all major brand name shells. I have spoke to Benelli CS to arrange a return/repair/ or exchange for the M2000.

#3 I have sent the M2000 back for the 3rd time and am totally dissapointed, the whole adeventure feels like a waste of time and money.
Told CS that an exchange for a new model might be in order and oddly enough they seem to agree, so wait and see.

I know some of you have had great expereinces with this gun, and I am jealous of your good fortune - so hear I am airing out some of my frustration. Another 6 - 8 weeks for repair or replacment? We will see.

while i have had great luck, i feel your pain tmac. my m2000 works beautifully. last year i bought a simmons 4-12-40 scope for a rifle i sent it back for the 3rd time two weeks ago, after a week i called them to check progress and they said they did not have it so they looked for it and finally found it. now they say 2-4weeks. dang it. 2 years ago i bought a h&r243win in syn&stainless. it shot like crap about a 4" group at 100yds. i sent it back twice replaced the scope once and never go to shoot better than 1.5" at 100. i sold it and bought a savage and never looked back. the scope will be trashed next time. any gun will never be sent back more than twice before i sell it or raise heck with cs. i bet i wasted a $150 on ammo trying to get that 243 hr to shoot. sorry to hear about your m2000, it would suck to have that happwn to mine because i really like the gun and have never had a problem with it.

I like it too when it works and I wont waste too much time or money on somthing like this. Honestly my plan is if they replace the gun is to not even fire it once and put it up for sale as NIB and move on.

A good friend who is the firearms dept manager at a major chain not to be mentioned said he wishes the store would discontinue selling all the Stoeger products and the Franchi I-12 and 612 auto's. Way too many bad ones for every good one.

You know sometimes I think these sales guys will tell you what you want to hear just to get the sale under their belts. Dicks Sporting goods just seems dumbfounded that I am sending mine back for the 3rd time, and they are question whether or not they should continue to handle the line out the the Green Bay store.

With anything you get the good and the bad, I just got the bad. If it works use it. The guys who have good working M2000's are probably very happy and would reccomend it to anyone.

I am working on a replacment gun with Benelli CS at this time, hopefully the new one will be much improved.

    TMAC,
I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. Not much more frustrating than having a gun not operate like it should. Too bad you just can't get your money back. You could sell your new replacement on gunbroker and hopefully get something close to what you paid.

I have the wife's approval to get a new shotgun. I think I'm going to get me an SBEII but I plan on keeping my M2000 as a backup.

TMAC, you've got way too much patience.

I would have wrapped that $300 around a tree a long time ago and taken my lumps and moved on to something else.

You are to be commended for your restraint and resolve, but I truly worry about your judgement.

You know friends have told me the same. My only good real reason why I am holding out for the replacment of this gun is if I recieve a NIB gun in replacment I will outright sell it and feel good its new and works. I told CS is the old one comes back and hiccuups once it will be returned in pieces (I said this nicely), so be sure of what your doing.

I will be moving on to another brand. I hunt way too much for problems like this to get in the way, so I started window shopping for the one.

I'm about two butt hairs away from buying a new shotgun. I've got it narrowed down to the SBEII and ExtremaII. I'm having a tough time.

Two years ago I bought the Model 2000, and ever since I've always wondered what it would be like to have the SBEII. I was not patient and jumped at the Model 2000 because it was easiest. I've been pleased with the gun but its like I'm still not satisfied. My wife is not real happy about it but I think she understands. She just wants to know when it will end (me wanting stuff). I just bought a new mud motor too. But she got a new house this year.

Good luck. Let us know what goes down....

When I get the M2000 back I will seriously consider a similar purchase for myself, wife might not like the extra cash I shell out but then again it might offset the shopping spree she went on while I was in Germany for a buisness trip recently.

I am torn a few different way at the moment, I like the SBEII and Extrema and have had an oportunity to shoot both. In addition a few friends have Winchester SX2'S and another has a Remington 11-87, so shot them all. The SBEII was the lightest and easiest to swing but a little more felt recoil than the others (inertia vs gas) I liked it, but also liked things about the others - so we will see what happens in the end but thats about 4 - 5 weeks away before mine comes back.

Turkey hunting with my pheasant gun Rem 1100 20ga because the Stoeger is on the fritz. Should be interesting but doable. I will let everyone know how things turn out.
