Hi! New to the forums, and looking to get started in CAS. I know that I need to have two pistols, a rifle, and a shotgun, but I'm still mostly blank on the whole thing. If anyone could fill me in on general advice for getting started, going about finding instructors, etc.
For pistols do I need to have two of the same, or two of different types? What does the typical competition consist of? About how much is a fair price to pay (ballpark estimate) for each type of gun?
    Thanks ahead of time!

Hello, I'll try to answer your questions. First most answers can be found on the SASS web site. For your pistols, no you don't need to have the same type, but it sure helps. That way you only need one type of ammo for them, and usually, most people use the same ammo for their rifle as well. The rifle must be in a pistol caliber. The best way to see what is going on is go visit a match in your local area. Again you can find a local match on the SASS web site. Most, almost all, clubs will be willing to let you use their firearms to see if you like it and which type you would like to purchase. You might expect to spend around a $1000 for both pistols, rifle and shot gun. Look around, there are deals to be had.

    I hope this helps.
