I just finished reading “Frontiersman Category For Dummies” on Captain Baylor’s web site. In it he states, talking about ROAs, “DO NOT CHANGE THE HAMMER SPRING. The stock one is stiff enough to pop caps. A 19 lb. Wolff spring, which might be nice in your Vaquero, will not reliably pop caps. Trust me.”

I was getting ready to do this to my ROAs but after reading the article I figured I’d better check the Wire to see if it’s a good idea or not. I have learned to get multiple inputs on things so, has anyone else had this problem after putting in the 19 lb. springs?

    Thanks.

I have no experience with ROAs or replacing springs in them, however, Capt. Baylor is a pretty knowledgeble fellow and personally, I respect his opinions. If I were you I'd take his advice.

    Good shooting and God bless.

Where'd Capt. Baylor's posted response go?
