So What Sixguns Do You Shoot?

Make? Caliber? Barrel length? Grips?

I shoot a matched pair of stainless Vaqueros in cal. 45 Colt with 7.5 inch barrels and genuine stag horn grips.

Back up sixshooters are a Bisley Vaquero, blue/cc in 45 Colt with 5.5 inch barrel and white Pearlite grips on the strong side and...
a Birds Head Vaquero in stainless, cal. 45 Colt with 3.75 inch barrel and ebony wood grips in right hand cross draw holster on left hip.

Sometimes I shoot a pair of Colt clones, both are blue/cc in cal. 44-40 - 7.5 inch barrel on right hip and 3 inch Sheriff's model in "Huckleberry Rig".

Or... a pair of Remington clones in cal. 45 Colt - a model '75 with ivory micarta grips on right hip and a '58 with R&D conversion cylinder on left hip.

So...what kind of shootin' irons do you all pack?

I pick any 2-4 to shoot at each monthly match. Haven’t done much with the grips but most of them have action jobs done and/or spring kits installed. I have R&D cylinders for the dual caliber ones which; depending on the mood, I shoot BP or cartridge. I have had great luck with all of them as far as dependability, no real problems to speak of. I enjoy shooting the different types.

Mustang...that's quite a selection you've got there. I have others in the gun safe, though I don't think as many as you have. The 8 I listed are my shooters...used on a regular basis. I've got a couple of old Colts, which I don't shoot much. NA Schofield that I shoot once in a while and I'm currently putting together a set of sixguns in cal. 38-40. I have around half a dozen cap-n-ball revolvers. I shoot 4 of them every once in a while. The rest simply haven't been "test fired" yet.

Well shucks, you pards have it good. I don't have any single action revolvers yet. At the rate I'm saving up money, it's going to take a while before I can even afford a brace of 'em. I'm just going to sit here and turn green with envy. I might be able to get one in a few months, but I'm not sure which to start with. I like the look of the Ubertis, but I need to see which pistols feel best for me.
I've already decided to look for something besides the Rugers, since I have small hands and the Rugers are so big.

Sam, if'n ya got small paws and ya wants to shoot Rugers try the Birds Head models. They fit small hands a lot better or you could try regular old Vaqueros with "Gun Fighter Grips" on 'em. Lots of guys with small hands swear by them "GFGs".

For SASS competition, I use a matched pair of SS NMBHs, 5 1/2" barrel, .45 Colt. I also have a pair of Vaqueros, also SS, also 5 1/2" barrel. I also have a SS Bisley that I play with, but my big hands like the standard grip better.

I have a brace of '51 Navies and a Walker. The latter is a beast to carry but a hoot to shoot.

Most of my "clones" are Uberti made. I think their fit, finish and overall construction are superior to Pietta and ASM although I do own a few of those too.

Stoeger Silverado Coach gun, straight English stock (that cracked on me the other day) 12 ga, matte stainless.

Just bought Norinco Model 97 backup shotgun and a Winchester Model 94 Legacy in 25 Colt.

All guns have had the usual CAS tuning/work done on them.
