recoil reducer

I bought a 12ga Nova but California has a 10 day waiting period . i have not shot it yet. i have a couplr of simple questions. Can I install the recoil reducer myself? How effective is it? how much does it cost? How reliable has been your NOVA? Thanks for any and all imput.

A good friend of mine has one with a mercury suppressor installed in it, and he really likes it. Using some of these hevi shots, give you a good kick. Good luck!
