Thread: R1 .270 WSM Pros/Cons of 22" & 24"

    Looking for some guidance on barrel lengths offered for .270 WSM. (22" & 24"). Recommendations/pros/cons before purchase.

    Both lengths are too short to achieve optimal pressures and velocities from the given caliber, so that's not a factor.

    What's left is a question of whether you want a slightly higher muzzle velocity and better downrange trajectory, or a shorter barrel for easier handling in heavy cover.

    If you're staying in NC, I'd say go with the shorter barrel.
    If you're going to NM to elk hunt, consider the longer one.
    As you idea, Your picture don't very warm and wet. Have much die of bird. I think this isn't only a game.

    This one will be mostly NC. I'll add something different (caliber/onger) when opportunity presents for NM or larger range shooting.
