Any comments on either the Uberti Walker or Walker kit?
Is the loading lever dropping a problem?
Thanks RLH

I'd get the Uberti not a kit. The lever falling is a common problem with Walkers. They were mostly a saddle or Horse gun about 4 lb. But they will shoot about 45 gr. of Black Powder and really go boom. Most dependable and accurate are the 1858 New Army Remington, real good shooters. But love the look and feel of the Colts. I recently got a deal on a new in the box 1873BP Colt Cattleman Uberti. Has a Cap&Ball Cyninder in it from factory. Dixie Gun works has um now for $265 I think by Pieta. I saw mine in a shop going for $395. Paid $200 out the door at a non BP shop.
Our recent Walker Kit -Uberti from Dixie was perfectly finished except for the externals. The action was well timed and the trigger pull light. The lever drop thing is just pretty much a part of the package. S'why they designed a catch on the later revolvers. some people say theirs don't drop down but I've never seen one of those.
Our Kit Walker is very accurate and handles spent caps very well.
Get the gun not the kit. Much easier. As to the lever, now when I shoot it, I always wrap tape around the barrel and lever. After one experience where it dropped open unexpectedly, I donm't take anyt chances. It's a common thing with Walkers.
