    Why has Uberti claimed that their reproduction firearm of the S&W No. 3 First Model was first introduced in 1870? Does this mean that they are the Model 3 Americans or the Model 3 Schofields. The American models were introduced in 1869-70, while the Schofields were introduced in 1875. Uberti's picture of the No. 3 First Model looks more like a Schofield than an American.

    I think they just have the photos mixed up on the website. If you look at them closely you see that they have both the first model and second model "Schofields" but with the wrong descriptions under them. (The top photo that says 2nd model is actually a 1st and the bottome that say 1st model is actually a 2nd).
