bought two 5.5" .45 cattlemen. both guns shot 10"s left @25 yds. turned barrels. one still shoots 5" left the other is on but front sight is canted 20-25 degrees to left making sight picture somewhat unmanageable. sent both back to importer-tristar- for repair or replacement. they have had them for a week now and have not heard from them despite phone calls and messages. anyone have any input about tristar? anyone had similar problems with uberti revolvers? should i give these two to my wife to shoot and buy a couple of colts to use myself?

I just got a 30 year old Cattleman that shoots 12" high at 25' with 250 gr bullets.

I am going to TIG weld 1/4" material on top of the front sight blade.

Just bought a new Cattleman, 5.5" barrel. Cleaned it and took it to the NRA range. It shot about 1/2" left and 1/2" high of point of aim at 25 ft with 250 gr Winchester Cowboy loads. Nice tight groups shooting off a sandbag.
Was surprised and impressed. Very fun pistol...!

I have ignored the Uberti name before this, but I am som much happier with the Cattleman than the Ruger Blackhawk, I can't wait to get another Uberti.

    I have 4 newer made Uberti firearms. A 1873 SAA with a 7 1/2" barrel & a 1858 Rem. and 2 rifles.
One an 1873 and the other a 1866. All shoot
great. Had to do some sight adjusting on the rifles for distance and bullet weight but that's all.
The revolver sights, like the original Colts, are not the easiest for good target shooting. Takes a lot of practice and concentration to get the correct sight picture.

This one was made in 2004 and it is my favorite shooter now after a couple of weeks. I put the Colt style grips on because they feel better to my hand. The sights came perfectly regulated to hit dead center (if I do my part)
