I just looked in the Speer number 10 Reloading manual and they have a section for loading the 45 Colt for Ruger's and Contenders ONLY. So I wouldn't do it with the Uberti as its on the Colt frame. I guess all this leads to the question: What are you planning on doing with your 45 Colt?? I shoot lots of 44 mag, but i load it to friendly (read, not hand crunching)loads, fun stuff to shoot. The plan for my Uberti (in 357)is a lighter gun than my Ruger 44 to carry around these woods. Oh, i did look in the Hornady Third Edition loading manual and they say they were able to reach 1000 fps with a 250 grain JHP and Winchester 296 powder(be careful with this one, its a great powder, but you have to pay attention)without problems in a Colt revolver. I'd get copies of the reloading books and see what they have to say.
