I've a Uberti Buntline, with the stock .45LC The problem I have is the Stock doesn't tighten that much without adding cotton pads as shims even then the stock pulls away from the gun. I was told by a fellow at the Chisum Gun show in March in Wichita KS. That the buntline had the wrong frame. And to top this off the Buntline I own has the blade sight of like the one on the carbine. What do you think can be done to help this matter. Thank you for your help. Or do I have a truly mixed up gun. I bought the Buntline new. Yes the stock is distactable.

I've got a Uberti "Cattleman .45" with an 18" bbl. and a detachable shoulder stock. It was produced around the mid 1970's and imported by Iver Johnson. Looking in Uberti's 2004 catalog, the "Buntline" resembles the Cattleman almost exactly except the hammer screw doesn't look like the one for a stock. And the catalog does not mention the detachable stock as an option. The fellow you talked to at the show may be right. Although you might be able to fix the frame with afew extra parts to make it utilize the stock.
