Hi,

I am planing on buying an 1866 rifle in .44-40 and I am wondering if there is any difference in performance between the 20" and 24.5" barrels.

Does the 24.5" offer any increase in accuracy or muzzle velocity? Or considering the small size of the cartridge and light cowboy loads, does the 24.5" have a lower muzzle velocity than the 20"?
