Target sights

I've ordered a new Uberti 1885 High Wall special sporter with a 32" barrel, and I have a 93 MJT MATCH GLOBE FRONT SIGHT I'd like to use. Is there a dovetail base available that will utilize the dovetail currently on the barrel? I'd rather not drill and tap for a standard dovetail base, and would probably move to a different front sight if I had too. I'm using a Marble rear peep tang sight.

Also, what is the dimension of the front dovetail?

Well, a machinist buddy of mine made me a base and then hooked me up with a nice set of Pedersoli front hooded, and vernier tang sight.

If you contact Ron Heilman at r.a.heilman@worldnet.att.net you can get both front sight with spirit level and interchangable inserts (lyman#17) and a QUALITY vernier tang sight forunder $400 delivered. these are the equal of any sight on the amrket and better than most. Ron is retired and spent his military career as a riflesmith for the Army Marksmanship Unit. He does know what he is doing. Forget the Italian sights anmd save yourself some aggrivation.
