Hey guys,
Just got in a pair of the Gabela"s "Mellennium" revolvers, made by Uberti, consecutive ser.no's.One has already had the trigger sear/cylinder bolt spring break. Replaced it with a Colt replacement part which fit and functions perfectly. After reading the writeup in "Gun Tests" on how the Uberti out performed the others tested with it,and owning some other Uberti pieces was amazed at this failure. Still love the guns, was just wondering if anybody has had some of the same problems or others I should expect.
Thanks,

I have one of the Uberti 1873 Single Action Cattleman in .45LC and have had no problems with it. I am still amazed at how close it is to my (old) Colt SAA. I suspect you just had an unlucky part failure. Guess that's why they make replacement parts

Quick Draw,
You're right about the closeness to Colt. I really like that for the fact that parts can interchange. the spring that failed looked weak to begin with. The replacement is much meatier and needed no fitting. The other gun's spring looks a little better, but not much, am going to order a few extra just to be safe. I also have a "Cattleman's" .45, made by Uberti and sold by Iver Johnson w/ an 18" bbl. and detachable shoulder stock. Have shot it 100's times w/ no problems. The one that broke was only shot less than 25 times. Oh well, thank goodness parts are available and reasonably affordable.
See ya,

Hi DBLNOT,

Have you tried a Wolff Spring in your Uberti? I am thinking of trying them in both my Uberti and my Colt.

Quick Draw,
Have been pondering that lately. Ought to give them a try in one and compare it to the other and see if all this talk I hear about those springs is true.
Later,
