Alright guys, bare with me on this.

As I said in my previous thread, I was going on Tuesday to check out this gun. Well, I went today to check it out. I couldn't wait until tomorrow.

It's not an Alcione, it's a Falconet Silver Grade. It was bought new in 1972 and it looks like it was taken out of the box brand new right in front of me today. There is not a scratch, blemish or mark anywhere on it. It looks brand new. I think the guy is telling me the truth that it's never been fired. It appears that way.

There are two reasons why I didn't buy it today on the spot. One is, I'm not sure if the gun is worth the price of $900, the other is the barrels are fixed choked, IC & C (I think), no choke tubes.

I need your feed back guys. What do you think?

By all accounts, you did the right thing by not buying it.
No way is it worth $900.
    Go back and offer $250.
If he doesn't take that, send me a PM with his name, address, and phone number so I can contact him and explain to him what a ridiculous price $900 really is.
IMPORTANT!!!! - Do not post his contact info. here to bother these nice folks. Just send it to me via Private Message.

Thanks Tucker. I'll pass completely on the gun. No need to post or PM anything.

    Thanks.

    Baydog,
I'm pretty sure Tucker is messing with you. I just looked up a Falconet on gunsamerica and it was priced at 1,100 for a .410. I think $900 for a mint condition is probably pretty cheap, and they appear to be rather rare.

Hahahaha, I was about 90% sure that Tucker was "baiting" me. But not knowing him personally, there was that 10% of doubt. He was pretty slick.

I'm still thinking of buying it although I wanted an O/U to "use" not collect. I might not want to pass this one up. I've had other guys tell me somewhere between $750 - $1000. The gun is premo.

Tucker, if I don't buy it and you're serious, I'd be glad to send you the contact info.

Thanks for the heads up pbro21, and you almost had me Tucker. hahaha!!!

I think it would be a great collector's item at a great price.

However, if you are looking for a shooter, consider the Diamond from Dick's Sporting Goods for around $700 or a used Alcione for around $900.

I'm not familiar with the Diamond. It would be great if I could find a decent Alcione for around $900. I'm looking.

Just a tidbit of info. Although the Falconet is not a bad gun, there are no parts left to be found for them and they were notorius for the trigger itself breaking. Nothing is interchangable with the new models either. I'm thinking that the Alcione or the Diamond would be a better investment in the long run. My personal choice would be the Alcione. Better fit, metal, more hearty and you can interchange barrel length and guages on the same receiver and forend.

Yeah, I've heard that a few times about the the lack of parts for the Falconet. Thanks for the info wallhanger.
I am looking around for an Alcione. If I could find one for a good price, I might be able to spring for both.

I wish someone would hurry up and buy the thing so I could stop thinking about it. hahaha

A couple of you guys now have mentioned the Diamond, do you have any info on this gun? Who makes it?
