Both makers produce a number of models.
Either will last a lifetime if properly cared for (but who does that?)
Could you be a bit more specific as to which models you are comparing? Perhaps there are other features of which you have not been made aware.
Although it's pretty obvious from your post, you've done a tremendous amount of research![]()
As you idea, Your picture don't very warm and wet. Have much die of bird. I think this isn't only a game.
I'm comparing Franchi's Raptor to a Benelli M2, or a Legacy. I would use the Raptor for sporting clays and trap only. The price is right compared to the M2 or Legacy. Do we get what we pay for!
I love Benellis, always will.
But, with Benelli's help, Franchi is coming along nicely.
I think the newer Franchi models will be their best ever; the I-12 almost has to be a winner, not too cheap, not too 'spensive, just right....
I will buy a 712 or 720 Raptor soon - I like the goofy green fake carbon fiber model. I think the Raptor is a very good gun - almost a no-brainer for sporting clays and trap.
But as to their actions, they are very different guns, you would almost have to shoot both to see what you prefer.
Buy one of each!
The industry needs a good $650-$700 gun. It used to be the Browning Gold before the huge price increase by Browning.

I'd stick with the gas guns for clays.
There's going to be a slight reduction in recoil and the raptor should handle lighter loads more consistently than the inertia driven system of the M2 and Legacy.
