I have one. So far mine has operated flawlessly. I only use it for clay shooting. I use either Winchester or federal shells 90% of the time, once in a while I'll end up with a box of Remington or Fiocchi shells. Always #8 shot 1 1/8 oz. No problems yet. Keep in mind that this is a "Sporting Clays" gun, it's designed to opperate on #8 & #9 shot as the bulk of it's diet. It has an adjustable gas piston that comes set for light loads if you want to go out and shoot some "duck, duck , goose", you can turn the gas piston around to set it for heavy loads. Take a look at the 912 web page, it has the same gas piston and they show a picture of it on that page.
I'm looking real hard at getting one for sporting clays and trap. Currently I'm shooting a Beretta 390. Alot of my buddies are shooting Beretta's without any problems. I've heard of Benellis having trouble ejecting light loads. Not too many Franchis here in our neck of the woods. We raffle several at our Ducks Unlimited Banquets. Thanks for your input. Do you shoot reloads through yours?
I don't reload, yet, I'm actualy shopping around for reloading supplies right now. Mainly so I can load light loads for my wife.
The raptor continues to operate flawlessly, this past sunday I went through 200 shells. All Federal feild & target loads from Wal-Mart #8 shot, 1 1/8 oz. of shot, 3 Dram EQ. The only light loads I've tried were a box of Remington STS that I stole from my wife. They were #8 shot, 1 oz. shot, 2 3/4 Dram EQ. They worked fine as well. (I only shot one box of these, so that's a rather small test sample. 25 for 25, take it with a grain of salt.) However that was after about 150 of my normal Federals, so the gun was good and dirty at that point.
