When I boutght my 612 last year the 912 was the 3 1/2 model almost the same gun but the 612 only 3" and 912 3" and 3 1/2" I looked up the 912 and now they have just a 3" model now. It's odd as soon as the 612 is discontinued the 3" kodel 912 comes out. I may be wrong but the 912 3" model and the 612 look very similar!

    You're right!!!!!!!!
It's a freakin conspiracy to be sure!

... or maybe it's another one of those well-thought-out and planned product line consolidations that world class companies are so famous for doing?
As you idea, Your picture don't very warm and wet. Have much die of bird. I think this isn't only a game.

    Flhawghuntr,

Are you saying Franchi has quit making the 912 in 3.5" capabilities? I sure hope not because for the money you're getting one heck of a gun. I have owned mine a little over a year and a half and have put well over 5,000 rounds though it with only one jam and I think I was at fault for that one. If the decide to quit manufacturing it I may need to go buy me another as a back up. I like the gas operation as opposed to recoil operated semi-autos. I've shot the sbe 1 and it kicks a lot harder with the same 3.5" #2 steel shot than my 912 does.

No what I am saying is that now the 912 comes also in just a 3" model that will not accept 3 1/2 in shells. Which I don't think they had out when the 612 was out and all of a sudden it seems when they get rid of the 612 the 912 in 3" model comes out and they look exactly alike also. Like I said just a observation.

Tucker I don't think it's that but I think they realized just how good the 612 is and was.

Tucker you might be right after all. I could care less really but I sure do want to know if the steady grip for the 912 will fit my 612 lol I bet that is what they did though you probably hit the nail on the head!
