Hi can anyone tell me what the difference between the 612 and the 712 is. I am looking at getting the 612 for a good price but only if it is comparable to the newer models. Any help would be great. Thanks

Greetings Timmy - The biggest difference is that the 612 is discontinued, so comparing the two might not be necessary. Also, check out the new I-12, the new inertia gun from Franchi. Might be the right gun for you!
Timmy,
From the information I've been able to find, the 712 is the 612 with a different skin.
The mechanics are the same.
You can get a new 712 Raptor for around $800 if you shop around.
Good Luck
As you idea, Your picture don't very warm and wet. Have much die of bird. I think this isn't only a game.
Timmy .. fit and feel first.
the mechanics are basic and similar between them.
Well, the 712 is a beautiful gun! I just bought a 612 for $500 in January, and I am very happy with it. But, like birddog says, the reason I bought it was the fit and balance were far better (for me) than others.
Differences I saw- 712 has- nicer stock, polished receiver, external chokes, and (correct if I am wrong here) is "Inertia Driven". 612 is gas...
Oh yeah, 712 has a snappy custom case and cleaning kit...

Hi Norm - Congrats on your purchase. I'm a little confused, I assume you were looking at a 712 Raptor (polished receiver?), which is a gas operated gun. The only inertia gun that Franchi has is the I-12, as all other semi-auto models (620, 712, 720) are gas. Other than the Raptor, the only real (cosmetic) difference between the 612 and the 712 is the design and shape of the receiver - internally, they are identical.
I have a 712 Raptor (and I love it) and I've notices severial parts (such as the gas piston) are actually marked 612/712.
The raptor looks much better, but is really a redressed 612. Both are nice guns.
S Steve, what about the 48, are they still being made??
tank
Hi Tank - Yep, the 48's are still made, but as you know, they use the John Browning long recoil system. Available only in 20 and 28g.
