I'd like to refresh my first shotgun - 12ga semiauto my dad bought me in 1972. It is recoil operated and receiver looks more square than round. The owner's manual lists no model but I guess it's a 48 AL. It is chamber in 2 3/4" with IC barrel field model. Serial numbr is A36924. It had a cracked butt stock so about ten years ago I bought a walnut set from a wholesaler. The tang that is inset on the underside of the stock is more narrow (1/8" or so) than the slot in the wood from a 48 AL. Either I got ripped off on the wood or Franchi changed the casting later in their production? Anyway, I'd like to get this gun fully finctional so I can enjoy it somemore. Anyone know of a good gunsmith for this job in the D.C. area or elsewhere? Source for parts?
