I am loking at the Franchi's just becasue they are a good value for the money compared to Benelli and Beretta.

My question: WIll the Rqptor 712 reliably cycle 2/3" 1oz. loads???? All the literature says that it requires minimally 1 1/8 oz.

Maybe I should wait for the new inertia comfortech Franchi?? Uses the Benelli action.

Hey, Nick. Sorry I can't answer your question but I was wondering where you heard about a comfortech Franchi? If it has the features of SBE II/M2, I'm in.

Here's what Jim Scoutten emailed me. He'sthe dude that hosts the Sightingin program on OLN.

New from Las Vegas show which ended a couple of days ago.

The Benelli news is actually for Franchi and Stoger. The Benelli Inertia Operating system is now available, with the comfortech recoil reduction system, across all affiliated brands. So the Benelli operating system can be had in three price points, Stoger (low), Franchi (medium) and of course Benelli. Franchi is in the photo.

Now I won't buy a Raptor 712, but will wait for this new Franchi.

Thanks for the info, Nick. I hadn't heard, but had planned on an SBEII. Guess I'll be waiting awhile too!

    Hey Guys,

You have some bad information. The Franchi and Stoeger will be available with the same Inertia Driven™ operating system but only Benelli will have the ComforTech™ system. Now you will be able to get the best semi-automatic operating system in all Benelli USA brands at their different price points.

Thank God!! I bought my Franchi and almost threw it in the air as a clay pigeon cuz it jammed so much! Took it home and Cleaned and oiled VERY thoroughly. Works like an absolute dream now. Thought I was the only one til I saw this.

Just got a 712 Raptor. Used a very light coat of the oil that ranchi provided. Set the piston on light loads and it functions beautifully. I have put less than 100 rounds through it so far but many of them were 1 oz Feds and they cycled perfectly. Not one fail to eject or load with those light shells.
