    Hey there,
Here in Missouri I am gearing up for the Spring Conservation snow goose season where it is legal to unplug your gun. Have only had my 912 for about a month now. Does anyone know if you can remove the plug on the 912 and how to go about doing it? I cannot find any mention in the manual for it.
    Thanks a bunch!!

remove the barrel nut on the end of the magazine tube. Remove the small metal plug in the end of the tube. It will probably need to be squeezed together with some needlenose in the small holes. It will come out with the spring with some force. Don't have your head over it. remove the plug from the spring and reasemble the spring and small metal plug and the barrel nut. It took mine out tonight the conservation order begins tomorrow here. Went goose hunting today in the Bootheel had no luck did see alot of snows though just out of range. And alot of ducks. The season for ducks ended Monday now we start seeing all the ducks

With mine all you have to do is remove the magazine cap and tip the gun towards the floor, it falls right out. There is no retainer cap like you would find on a Remington gun.

I should mention too, you don't have to worry about a spring jumping out at you either. Its really a very nice feature to not have to remove the retainer cap and magazine spring- just unscrew, dump and go shoot snows!

    Weird,
I tried both of the suggestions above and neither works on my gun. Maybe they changed this recently? Mine is brand new bought 12/31/2004. How old are yours? With mine when you remove the magazine cap and look down the magazine, there is a red stopper type thing down about 1 inch. Doesn't turn, or push or pull up at all. Seems almost like it is held in there by magic!! Any other suggestions?

    DuckEraser,
That red stopper you see is the plug, all you have to do is turn the gun upside down and bump it a little. The plug should come free and fall out, at least that's how I first removed mine.

Mine must be an older gun. The new way sounds much more easy. That plug is a real pain to get in with the spring pressure on it. I bought mine used so I have no idea how old it is.

    Thanks so much guys!!
I got home last night, and screwed off the magazine cap. Turned the gun upside down and tapped on the received once with my palm and lo and behold...........Plug fell out!!!! Sweet........Thanks so much for your help!!
Duckilla... Had a few other people tell me that theirs was like yours....Plug between spring and the retaining cap(one with two holes in it) They said to moved the cap down the mag tube far enough that the plug would fit on top of it and then all you have to do is turn it upside down to remove it. Say it works the same way.
Once again thanks a million guys!!
