    Does the 20 gauge come in a 3" & 2 3/4? I just looked at one and it was 2 3/4 only.

    nope, 2 3/4 inch only. and given the light weight of the 48AL a 3 inch chamber would make for 40 foot pounds of recoil or more good buddy. in a 5 pound gun the 2 3/4 inch 1 ounce of shot is about all your shoulder can take...and as many shotgun books say the 3 inch 20 guage load is a lot of shot in a narrower bore; i've patterned #5 and 6 shot in a 3 inch 20 guage and the pressure involved means uneven patterns to me compared to 12 guage. hope this is helpful. dan mcphail, flint mi
