Hey guys, new poster here. I was wondering if anyone here has one of these? I was going to buy my wife a Browning Gold Ladies Sporting Clays model, but they are on backorder until late summer maybe longer.

Then I found the 612 Sporting. It has many of the features of the Browning, except the short stock, which can be fixed. I've always been a fan of Benelli/Franchi shotguns anyway. The price is almost identical, so I was wondering if anyone has one or has shot one and how they liked it.

    Any info is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Trailblazer

I shot both the 612 and the gold last fall and out of the two I liked the 612 better. I think the 612 was lighter and better balanced for me than the gold. I know there are a lot of happy 612 owners around here but take a look at the Beretta 391 too. That's the gun that I'm planning on buying this spring. I spent the end of last season trying out new guns and the 391 tops the list so far.

what has she said about them? have you brought her with to look at and hold/shoulder/swing them?

I've shot both too and I didn't have too much to say about the Browning. The lady's sporting model is set up differently then the mens though and it may fancy her more. But between the 612 sporting and the STD Gold sporting the I prefered the Franchi over the Browning .

I just picked up a 612 sporting last Friday and shot 200 targets with it on Sunday. The first 2 shots the gun malfunctioned. After that 198 shells without a hitch. The only thing that I am concerned with is the fore-end not being completely tight after tightening the the nut down all the way. I have the Alcion Sporting also and it is a great gun. The 612 fits great and is light and balanced well with very little kick with 1 oz. loads. I own 3 Benelli's 2 Franchi's and a Beretta super trap. They have all performed well for me so far.
