I have been looking into the Franchi 612 for sometime now and have heard nothing but great things about it- other than a few jams due to not cleaning the packing grease. I am very excited about this gun. If some of you Franchi owners could let me know what yall think em, I would greatly appreciate it. Can the 612 handle steel shot? Thanks in advance.

The Franchi 612 appears to be a very good gun. I've had mine just about 3 weeks, but no problems so far. Very reliable after the first couple of boxes of shells through it.

Thanks a lot for the info and opinion on the 612. I'm looking at one now, I just gotta save a little bit more money. The one I have my eyes on is the camo finish w/ a 26" barrel for about $600 with tax and everything. Is this a pretty good price or should I keep shoppin around? One more question, how much does a background check cost? Anymore info would be appreciated.

Dixieboy I got one this summer in Advantage Timber camo finish with a 28" barrell. Your price sounds pretty decent. Get one I think you'll be happy with it.
