Hello all, I just discovered this Franchi board. Looks like a good place to chat all things Franchi! On to my question.

In the receiver of my 612, I noticed the guide rails for the bolt head are rather beat up and rough. Does anyone else have this issue? Is it normal? Should I do anything about it?

Also, does anyone have a source for determining the year of production of Franchis? TIA.

If you are talking about the two guide rails attached to the bolt that also attaches to the tube that slides on the Magazine tube...mine appear to be heavily blued and are not smooth, but it sure shoots great...I think it is just the heavy coating of bluing or paint or whateve they used to coat the rails.

The rails in the receiver of my new 612 look pretty smooth to me. If they aren't smooth when new, I'm sure that after a few hundred rounds they will be much smoother.
